Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s 5th Annual Patient Blood Management Dinner Symposium
held September 28, 2017

Approximately 485 members from the community were in attendance to enjoy dinner and educational opportunities with PBM industry partners before hearing presentations on how the community is benefiting from PBM , where we’ve been and what lies ahead in PBM, the Primary Care Physician’s impact on patient readiness, the application of PBM in orthopedic surgery and the role of ethics in PBM. The program included audience participation, patient interviews and was concluded with a Q & A panel of presenters, four of whom are SABM members!
On Friday, November, 3, 2017, The Institute for Patient Blood Management and Bloodless Medicine and Surgery at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in New Jersey, hosted The International Symposium on Patient Blood Management.
This 8th annual symposium that was held at Englewood Hospital featured speakers whose distinguished careers embrace patient blood management as a standard of care for patients. The faculty of this academic meeting included Aryeh Shander, MD, FCCM, FCCP, Executive Medical Director of the Patient Blood Management Institute at Englewood Hospital, Sherri Ozawa, RN, Clinical Director of Patient Blood Management, Daryl J. Kor, MD, MSc, from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, Kai Zacharowski, MD, from the University Hospital of Frankfurt in Germany, Pierre Tibi, MD, from Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Arizona, and Axel Hofmann, ME, Professor at the Institute of Anesthesiology at the University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland, and Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Surgery, University of Western Australia.
The program had over 200 medical professionals in attendance and was webcast live to a worldwide audience of over 1,000 people.
